Jose Mourinho slammed Tottenham players in series of chats after sacking
According to The Telegraph, Jose Mourinho stayed at the Tottenham training ground for four hours after his sacking on Monday and had a go at some of the players.
Mourinho was shown the exit doors by Tottenham this past Monday, bringing an end to his rocky 17-month reign as the club’s first-team manager. The sacking was an outcome of declining results on the field coupled with growing unrest within the players, which prompted Daniel Levy to take action.
As per the report, Mourinho arrived to the club’s training facility on Monday kitted out in the training jersey to take a session. However, he was called into a meeting which ran for two hours, following which his sacking was confirmed.
After the decision was made, the Portuguese tactician is said to have stayed at the training ground for four hours to clear out his office. It is during this time that Mourinho had a series of talks with some of the Tottenham players during which he delivered some “home truths”.
The former Inter Milan and Real Madrid manager is said to have taken aim at some of the first-team players over their performances.
The report further goes on to add that relationship between Jose and the squad had deteriorated massively following the defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Europa League. Things had hit rock bottom, with the atmosphere during training sessions described as tense, with players afraid to smile.

This is not something new though. Mourinho, throughout his career, has had falling outs with players wherever he has managed. Danny Rose experienced at Tottenham last year while Dele Alli had also fallen out of favour, and more recently, even Gareth Bale. So, it mustn’t come as a surprise that the Welshman took a dig at Jose after the win over Southampton on Wednesday.
