Nuno Espirito Santo offered to Tottenham by super-agent Jorge Mendes
According to The Sun, super-agent Jorge Mendes has offered the services of his client and Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo to Tottenham who are looking for a new full-time manager.
Tottenham have been on the lookout for a new permanent head coach after Jose Mourinho, another client of Mendes, was booted out of the club last week. Things had looked to headed for an exit for some time now but the 2-2 draw to Everton proved to be the final straw that broke the camel’s back as Daniel Levy wielded the axe.
The Tottenham chairman has appointed former midfielder Ryan Mason as the interim manager till the end of the season. The 29-year-old is unlikely to be in the frame for the job on a permanent basis, although a top-four finish could change things.
Nevertheless, the search for a new manager has been going on with full intent over the past week but Tottenham have had to face a couple of setbacks as Julian Nagelsmann chose to sign for Bayern Munich while Brendan Rodgers has distanced himself from the job. Among others being linked with the job are Maurizio Sarri, as well as Nuno. (h/t The Sun)
And, now it is being said that Mendes has offered the Wolves’ manager to Tottenham and already has another of his clients, Bruno Lage, lined up as a replacement for him at the Molineux.
Nuno took over at Wolves in 2017 and has done a sterling job at the club despite their recent decline. Indeed, he masterminded a promotion from the Championship in his very first season with the club and followed it up with two seventh-place finishes. Given a better squad, which he would be getting at Tottenham, he has what it takes to be a top manager.
