PSG set to target Tottenham ace Dele Alli again, claims Fabrizio Romano
Speaking on CBS Sports, reputed journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur ace Dele Alli will be a top transfer target for PSG in the summer window.
Alli, 25, has been with Tottenham since 2015, having arrived from MK Dons. Having grown into one of the best attacking midfielders in England during his time at the club, he has regressed a bit over the past couple of seasons.
The 2020/21 campaign has been a particularly difficult one for the England international who had been out of favour under former manager Jose Mourinho. PSG, alerted by his predicament, had tried to sign him in the last summer as well as this past January transfer window as well. However, a move failed to materialise. (h/t CBS Sports)
But heading into the next season, the Parisian outfit are set to revive their interest in Alli again and will make an attempt to sign him from Tottenham, as per Romano.
“Yes Dele Alli would be the first target for Paris Saint-Germain in the midfield. They want Dele Alli, he was really close in January but the president of Tottenham Daniel Levy decided to keep the player.
“But we know the relationship between Pochettino and Dele Alli, he was amazing at Tottenham with him and that’s why Pochettino’s pushing to have him in the summer. Let’s see what Tottenham will decide and let’s see who will be the new coach of Tottenham who will be the key to decide for the club if keeping Dele Alli or letting him leave the club.”

The presence of Mauricio Pochettino does indeed help PSG’s cause given the equation that he shares with Alli from their days together at Tottenham. But with Mourinho not at the club anymore, the 25-year-old could get another chance to revive his career with Spurs.
