Gareth Bale agent gives hint on Tottenham future
According to Express, the future of Gareth Bale at Tottenham is still pretty uncertain, with no deal with Real Madrid on the table yet. His agent Jonathan Barnett confirmed that there has been no talk of Bale’s permanent stay at Spurs after this season.
Bale, 31, returned to Tottenham Hotspur seven years after leaving the club for Real Madrid. Having signed on a season-long loan deal, the Welshman had problems early in his tenure at the club. However, in recent months, the winger has started to showcase his class and was in sublime form as we beat Sheffield United 4-0 this past weekend.
Bale’s current loan deal expires at the end of the ongoing season. As of now, Bale will be returning to Real Madrid once it does. However, the Welsh wizard did fall out with Zidane and might not exactly feature in his plans.
His agent did little to quell questions on his client’s future, citing that nothing had been discussed yet. Barnett also claimed Bale had a tough time under Mourinho.
“Nothing has been discussed at the moment. He had a tough ride and I don’t think that should have been necessary. He came as one of the best players in the world. Sure, he had a few injuries and a few fitness problems but once they were over, all he needed was to be played in the right position and to be played constantly to get back into the rhythm.
He has been given that opportunity and you can see how he plays. I think with Gareth, like a lot of players, he has to enjoy his life and then you do well.”
