Transfer News: Tottenham star Serge Aurier could leave for just €10m
According to transfer news update from RMC Sport (h/t Sport Witness), Tottenham defender Serge Aurier could be able to leave the club for a nominal fee of just €10m in the summer.
Tottenham signed Aurier from French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2017. The Ivorian, though, had to largely play second-fiddle to Kieran Trippier in his first couple of seasons in North London.
Following the Englishman’s departure to Atletico Madrid in 2019, Aurier became the first-choice right-back but wasn’t convincing enough during the 2019/20 season, making crucial errors at the back. This forced Tottenham to sign Matt Doherty last summer but the Irishman has proven to be a dud so far, meaning Aurier has managed to retain his spot as the first-choice.
Till date, the former PSG man has made 109 appearances for the Lilywhites, scoring eight goals and setting up 17 more. While he is capable of producing some fine performances, as was the case against Sheffield United last weekend, Aurier has proven to be unreliable at the back for the major part of his time at the club.
Now that he is set to enter the final year of his contract with us, speculations have started to do the rounds over his future. Indeed, it is now being claimed that the 28-year-old has an “exit pass” in his contract this summer, which could be triggered for a fee of just €10m. (h/t Sport Witness)
The report does add that the presence of the clause does not mean that Tottenham are actively looking to offload Aurier. But the possibility of him leaving exists if any club is willing to match that figure.

It has further been mentioned that PSG retain an interest in securing a transfer for Aurier, as do AC Milan. In addition, Atletico Madrid could also make a swoop if they decide to offload Trippier this summer. It now remains to be seen if any of these clubs decide to launch a bid for the Tottenham ace.
