Serge Aurier slammed by Jamie O’Hara after Tottenham lose to Leeds United

Taking to Twitter, former Tottenham Hotspur star Jamie O’Hara has hit out at Serge Aurier, calling him a liability, after the team lost to Leeds United in the Premier League.

Tottenham were on the receiving end of a humbling 3-1 defeat to Leeds United as goals from Stuart Dallas, Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo Moreno allowed the Whites to bag all three points at Elland Road. Son Heung-min scored the only goal for Spurs.

While Harry Kane did put the ball into the back of the net at 1-1, the goal was chalked off for offside, in what was a contentious call by the VAR, one which has drawn the ire of interim manager Ryan Mason. Despite the poor call from the officials, the overall performance from the team was nowhere near good enough.

And O’Hara, who has been particularly critical of the team this season, has singled out Aurier as a major liability for Tottenham following a disappointing display from the Ivorian. The Ivory Coast international came into the game on the back of a fine performance against Sheffield United. However, he was not able to build upon it vs Leeds United.

While he did force Illan Meslier into a save in the second half, Leeds’ second goal of the day came from his flank while he was also caught out of position for the third one as well. Time and again he tended to give away fouls as well. All in all, it was not a very good display from the former PSG man. Criticising the right-back, O’Hara wrote on Twitter:

“Aurier is just an absolute liability.”‘

It was not just Aurier though as the likes of Eric Dier, Sergio Reguilon as well as Gareth Bale all struggled for Tottenham against Leeds. It was not good enough from the entire team and the defeat means that we are pretty much knocked out of the top-four race.
