Transfer News: Tottenham have Peter Gulacsi on their wishlist
According to transfer news from The Sun, Tottenham have been linked with a summer swoop for Peter Gulacsi. Spurs are keen on an £11.25m deal for the RB Leipzig keeper to replace Hugo Lloris.
Tottenham have captain Hugo Lloris as the first-choice with Joe Hart as his deputy. However, the latter, at 34 is in the twilight of his career and has made some mistakes over the past couple of seasons that have hurt the team. Furthermore, with his contract up for expiry in a year, a new long-term replacement for the Frenchman is something that the club needs to look at.
They are doing so with a host of glovemen being linked to the club. Names such as Mike Maignan, Koen Casteels and Sam Johnstone have all been doing the rounds. Now, it has been reported by BILD that Spurs are looking at Peter Gulacsi too.
Ardent fans of the Premier League will know that Gulacsi was a Premier League player with Liverpool. However, without any success, he joined RB Salzburg and then Leipzig. Over the last few years, he has been one of the most consistent men between the sticks in Germany and also was a part of the Leipzig side that went to the semi-finals of the Champions League last season.

The Hungarian shot-stopper is said to have an £11.25m release clause in his contract. Nonetheless, Spurs are not the only club after him, with Roma and Borussia Dortmund also in the fray. Gulacsi may not be one of those glittering names but he is a reliable presence that Spurs need badly.
