Nuno Espirito Santo addresses talks of distraction for him and Graham Potter amid Tottenham Hotspur links

Speaking before Wolverhampton Wanders took on Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday (h/t Mirror), Nuno Espirito Santo revealed that he and Graham Potter would not be distracted by links to Tottenham Hotspur.

The two sides met on Sunday in what was a battle of two Spurs-linked managers. Ever since Jose Mourinho was sacked in April, the rumour mill has not stopped spinning.

Ryan Mason currently heads the club as the interim boss. However, that will only last until the summer, with Tottenham employing a new permanent manager by the start of the next campaign.

And two names that have been linked to the managerial vacancy are that of Nuno Espirito Santo and Graham Potter. Santo has done a brilliant job at Wolves which saw him guide his team back to the Premier League in his first season in charge. (h/t Mirror)

Still no clarity over new manager

Potter, meanwhile, has been equally impressive at the Seagulls having now protected them from relegation two years in a row. However, Santo does not think that such links would distract the two managers in their clash this weekend.

“No [on being asked if he or Graham Potter would be distracted by transfer talks]. All the managers in the Premier League have their own philosophies and are very talented managers.”

Mason has looked out of depth since he took charge of the club. But that is not his fault. This is the first time he has taken charge of a senior team and at 29, he is still very inexperienced.

But after firing someone like Jose Mourinho, it becomes a big task to appoint his successor. Spurs would have undoubtedly liked to appoint Julian Nagelsmann but he has signed a deal with Bayern Munich.

It now remains to be seen who takes over the club once this season concludes.
