Transfer News: Tottenham offered Newcastle United youngster Bobby Clark
According to transfer news from Football Insider (h/t ESPN), Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign Newcastle United wonderkid Bobby Clark in the summer window.
Bobby Clark, son of Newcastle legend Lee Clark, has been making huge waves on the youth footballing levels over the past couple of years. The midfielder, 16, became the youngest ever player to represent the Magpies’ Under-18 side when he was just 14 years and 206 days old and has also represented the England national team at the Under-16 level.
Widely regarded as one of the brightest talents in his age group in the country, Clark had been previously linked with the likes of Manchester United, Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester City. Newcastle, though, managed to tie him down to a scholarship contract but the midfielder hasn’t been receiving game-time as regularly as he would have liked this term.
And now, there could be a chance that Clark is on his way out of the Tyneside outfit, with his services being offered to Tottenham Hotspur as per the report. Spurs have a strong youth system wherein we are seeing a number of players develop well and make a splash.
Japhet Tanganga broke into the senior team last term, while Oliver Skipp enjoyed a dream of a 2020/21 campaign on loan at Norwich City. Dane Scarlett has looked great in his handful of first-team appearances for Spurs this season as has Alfie Devine. So, it is obviously likely to appeal to someone like Clark, who has already shown great potential.
