Tottenham Transfer News: Norwich keen on another loan spell for Oliver Skipp
According to transfer news from Eastern Daily Press, Norwich want Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp for another loan spell next season. Skipp completed his loan spell with the Canaries in the Championship leading them to promotion to the Premier League.
Skipp, 20, is a product of the Tottenham Hotspur youth academy. Widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects to have come through the ranks, the central midfielder made his first-team debut back in 2018 and has gone on to make 23 appearances for the senior team.
Last summer saw Skipp being sent out on loan to Norwich City. And the move paid off big time as the Englishman established himself as a permanent fixture in the middle of the park for the Canaries. Indeed, Skipp played a key role in Daniel Farke’s side winning the EFL Championship and earning promotion back to the Premier League.
As the new season closes in, Norwich City’s sporting director Stuart Webber has talked about another loan spell for Skipp.
“I have spoken to Spurs already. I have obviously spoken to Oliver already. And his representative. We’d love to keep him,” said City’s sporting director. “What’s key for us is we’ll always leave a place open for him, because his impact is huge. But I think there’s a few things which need to fall into place for that.
“He has to get over his injury, of course, then we have to see who the new Tottenham head coach is going to be, what their transfer strategy will be, where do they finish in the league this season. All of those things might have an impact.”

Webber conceded that Skipp will have a lot of options to choose from this summer. Nonetheless, he remained optimistic that Spurs would take this season into account and allow him to return to Norwich. However, given the progress he has shown over the last one season, Spurs would actually want to keep the player and give him Premier League experience.
