Tottenham Hotspur to make their move for Japanese international Daichi Kamada
According to Prem Insider of the Guardian (h/t Twitter), Tottenham Hotspur are set to launch a £20m bid for Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Daichi Kamada in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old has been with the Germans since 2017 and can also be deployed as a second striker. He has made 33 appearances for Frankfurt this season, scoring five goals and assisting 15 more. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Frankfurt does not appear to be against selling the player. However, Spurs will have to up their offer given that the Germans are seeking £30m.

Kamada famously scored a double against our arch-rivals Arsenal in the 2019 Europa League. The defeat proved to be the final straw for then manager Unai Emert who was then dismissed from the job.
A full international for Japan, Daichi has scored thrice in 10 games for the Asian giants. Signing him would also help us extend the Spurs brand into new territory. After all the success of Son Heung-Min has seen the club gain a strong foothold in South Korea.
There is no reason why the same cannot happen in Japan. To put matters into perspective, Spurs have more fans in japan than the likes of Manchester United, Barcelona, Liverpool and Arsenal combined. (h/t BBC)
Tottenham have been overly reliant on both Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min for their goals this season. With the former looking to leave in the summer, replacing his contribution will be no easy task.
While Daichi has an eye for goal, he is more of a creator who can fashion opportunities for others. Bringing in such a player would help reduce the overreliance on a player and instead have us develop into a much better outfit overall

Daichi is by no means a signing who will get the fans’ pulses racing. He can however prove himself to be an effective one who will do his talking on the pitch. Spurs struck gold with Son and there is no reason why lightning cannot strike twice.
