Tottenham hold talks with Hansi Flick over manager job
According to the Express, Tottenham Hotspur have held talks with Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick over appointing him as the next manager of the club at the end of the season.
Tottenham are without a permanent manager currently having let go of Jose Mourinho from the role last month following a disappointing run of result. Ex-Spurs midfielder Ryan Mason has been handed over the reins to see the season through on an interim basis as permanent replacements for the Portuguese are looked at.
Among a host of names that have been linked with the job, Bayern Munich’s Hansi Flick is one. The German took over the reins at the Allianz Arena during the 2019/20 campaign and turned Die Roten into treble-winners. Backing up on it, he has once again managed to win the Bundesliga title with Bayern but is set to quit at the end of the season.
A role with the German national team has been mooted, with Die Mannschaft set to be without a manager after the UEFA Euro 2020 in the summer as Joachim Low is set to step down. Tottenham, though, are hoping to beat them to the punch and have held talks with Flick over becoming the club’s next manager. (h/t Express)
However, the 56-year-old is said to have his heart set on taking over the German national team, dealing yet another blow in Spurs’ pursuit of a new manager. (h/t Express)
