Transfer News: Tottenham keen on Emiliano Buendia
According to transfer news from Sky Sports, Tottenham are interested in signing Emiliano Buendia. However, Spurs are not the only side after him, with Arsenal and Aston Villa also keeping tabs on the Norwich City attacker.
Profile
Emiliano Buendia had a brief stint in the youth ranks of Real Madrid before completing his development at Getafe. He initially featured for the club’s reserve side in the third tier before making his La Liga debut during the 2014-15 season. The 24-year-old bagged 8 goals and 12 assists during the 2018-19 season as the Canaries secured promotion to the PL as the outright winners of the Championship.
Buendia was one of the brightest sparks in an otherwise disappointing 2019-20 campaign for Daniel Farke’s side that ultimately ended in relegation from the top-flight. Nonetheless, he was again central to Norwich’s push back into the Premier League.
Tottenham will have to fend off competition for Buendia
Buendia is a natural right-winger who can play as an attacking midfielder and as a left-winger. The player has carried on his form from last season and is again tearing up the Championship. 15 goals and 17 assists have been provided by the Norwich man this season.
It is hard not to see why the Argentine is being courted by Premier League sides such as Tottenham. Norwich have made sure that they get a good price for him and have valued him at around £40m. The club have not ruled out selling him but they will demand a premium to sanction a sale.
