Transfer News: Tottenham backed to sign Tammy Abraham
According to transfer news from Express, Tottenham have been urged to sign Tammy Abraham as a replacement for Harry Kane. Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy feels that the Chelsea outcast can be a good replacement for Spurs in case Kane does leave the club in the summer.
Kane, 27, has spent most of his footballing career at Tottenham, having come through the youth ranks at the club and going on to become one of the best strikers in the game. However, heading into the summer transfer window, the England captain could be on his way out, with recent reports claiming that he had informed the decision to the club as well.
A move driven by his ambition to win silverware has led to a lot of speculations over the past few days. Addressing the speculations head-on, Kane has now claimed that he is at a crossroads in his career and will consider his options. The England international also added that it will be he who decides his future and not Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.
At another London club, Tammy Abraham is being made to warm the benches. After the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, the Chelsea striker has slipped to the fringes, to the point that he isn’t even seen in the matchday squads on occasions. Chelsea are keen to get the striker off their books as well.
Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy believes that Tammy Abraham can fill the void at Spurs if Kane leaves the club.
“I think Harry Kane is going to go to Man City. Before we were talking about Tammy Abraham and what a signing he’d be for someone like Tottenham. If Kane is going to go… Tammy is a goalscorer.”
