Tottenham serious about getting back Mauricio Pochettino
According to news from Daily Star, Tottenham are serious about getting back former manager Mauricio Pochettino. Senior figures at the club are pondering over the idea of bringing back the PSG manager, who enjoyed a fruitful spell at Spurs before being sacked in 2019.
Tottenham are without a permanent manager currently having let go of Jose Mourinho from the role last month following a disappointing run of results. Ex-Spurs midfielder Ryan Mason was handed over the reins to see the season through on an interim basis.
Pochettino was let go in 2019 with results failing to pick up after their splendid 2018-19 season. They went all the way to the Champions League final. Prior to his sacking, Spurs enjoyed their most successful time in the Premier League and Champions League with Pochettino at the helm.
He made Spurs into Champions League regulars and that too with a shoestring budget. Now, after Mourinho leaving a bad taste in their mouth, Spurs are seriously thinking about approaching the PSG manager to take over the club in the summer.
With a serious reboot needed at the club, officials are looking towards the familiar face of Pochettino. The Argentine has not endured the best of starts to his PSG stint. It has also been claimed that he is finding it difficult there. That comes as a boost to Spurs, who might be tempted to bring back their former manager.

It is understandable that Spurs want to bring back Pochettino. But the fact that he is yet to complete a full season at PSG works against them. PSG have shown no inclination to remove him from the job. Moreover, it is unlikely that he would want to leave the club so soon.
