Tottenham looking for ‘softer’ manager than Antonio Conte: Kaveh Solhekol
According to Sky Sports’ journalist Kaveh Solhekol (h/t Metro), Tottenham Hotspur are looking for a manager that is “softer” than Antonio Conte, amid intense speculations.
Tottenham’s hunt for a new manager is yet to reach a conclusion with the club not able to narrow down on a candidate. After a series of setbacks in pursuit of other reported targets, Antonio Conte has emerged as a viable option for Spurs to replace Jose Mourinho on a permanent basis.
The Italian tactician is currently unattached after having left Inter Milan on Wednesday, only days after having led them to the Serie A title. With the 51-year-old now up for grabs, Tottenham were said to have made a contract offer for him already in order to secure his services.
Solhekol, however, has provided a different take on the matter, claiming that Tottenham are looking for a manager with a “softer” profile than Conte, who is known to ruffle some feathers at every club he goes to.
“Spurs are looking for a softer manager, with a personality that would be easier to manage.”
Conte left Juventus due to disagreement over transfers while he also severed ties with Chelsea due to similar reasons. The Italian is known to be a bit mercurial and hasn’t had the easiest of relationships with the boards at any club he has worked so far.

Conte, despite the said misgivings, is a manager that has brought success wherever he has worked. While it is understandable that the board is a bit apprehensive following the whole Jose Mourinho experience, the 51-year-old can be the right man to lead the team to the top.
