Daniel Levy confident of securing Tottenham return for Mauricio Pochettino
According to The Sun (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is confident of bringing back former manager Mauricio Pochettino to the club.
Tottenham have been without a permanent manager ever since Jose Mourinho was sacked by Levy last month. Ryan Mason took charge of the team on an interim basis and saw the 2020/21 campaign out, with Spurs finishing seventh in the Premier League table and qualifying for the UEFA Europa Conference League for the next season.
With the season now over, plans for the upcoming campaign and the summer transfer window before that need to be started. And, for that a new manager needs to be appointed at the earliest possible.
And, on Thursday, reports emerged that Tottenham were plotting a sensational swoop to bring back Pochettino to the club. The Argentine was sacked by Spurs in November 2019. The 49-year-old spent over a year without a job before taking over at PSG in January earlier this year. Since then, he has won two trophies with the Parisian outfit, although he did miss out on the Ligue 1 title.
It has now been claimed that Pochettino is not entirely happy at PSG, in particular with their sporting director Leonardo. In addition, the Argentine is of the feeling that he still has unfinished business at Tottenham after talks were held to check the possibility of a return to the club. (h/t Express)
As a result, Levy is confident that a move could be worked out to bring the 49-year-old manager back to Tottenham. The Spurs’ chairman is also hopeful that such a move would also bolster the club’s chances of retaining the services of star man Harry Kane, who is looking for an exit in the summer. (h/t Express)

A return for Poch would be a great move by Levy, without a doubt. Things may have ended a sour note for the Argentine at Tottenham but he remains a loved figure among the fans. And with proper backing in the transfer market, the 49-year-old could achieve what he failed to during his first spell at the club.
