Transfer News: Tottenham could revisit Milan Skriniar interest in the summer
According to news outlet Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur could revive their transfer interest in Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar in the summer.
Skriniar was a top target for Tottenham Hotspur all through the summer last year. However, a move failed to materialise owing to the Slovakian international’s £43m price tag.
Since then, the centre-back has gone on to enjoy a stunning season, helping Inter Milan to their first Serie A title in over ten years. However, there are fears that there could be an exodus of players from the Italian champions due to financial issues, something which led to manager Antonio Conte quitting earlier this week.
And, Tottenham could look to capitalise on the situation by launching another attempt to try and secure the transfer of Skriniar from Inter Milan.
It goes without saying that our defence is in need of a rejig heading into the summer transfer window. Toby Alderweireld, at 32, is not getting any younger while Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez are nearly not consistent enough to be trusted week in week out. Joe Rodon has shown glimpses of promise but is largely inexperienced at the highest level.
To that end, signing someone like Skriniar, who has years of experience at this level and is coming on the back of an excellent, title-winning campaign, would certainly be a great move for Tottenham Hotspur.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham do consider such a move in the summer or look at alternative targets. It is likely to depend on who the club appoints as the next manager and what sort of team he wants to build and the transfer targets he has in mind.
