Transfer News: Jose Mourinho wants Tottenham keeper Hugo Lloris at Roma
According to transfer news from Express, former Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho wants Hugo Lloris at AS Roma. The Portuguese is set to take over from next season and could raid his former side for the French goalkeeper.
Lloris has been with Tottenham Hotspur since the summer of 2012 when he arrived from Ligue 1 club Olympique Lyon. Over the course of his nine-year stint in north London, the goalkeeper has grown into a club icon and was one of the best in the league during his peak.
However, over the past couple of seasons, Lloris has started to show signs of age catching up with him. Even though there have been some fine performances between the sticks, there also have been occasions when he has made grievous errors that hurt the team.

Nonetheless, the World Cup winner could be offered a way out of the side by former manager Jose Mourinho. It has been reported that Mourinho has contacted Lloris over a transfer. Roma are on the hunt for a new keeper and have also been linked to David de Gea and Rui Patricio. Despite the keeper having just one year left on his deal, Spurs are keen to keep him.

It’s understandable that Spurs want to keep Lloris despite his shaky form. There aren’t any keepers in the side who can take over from him. Spurs have been looking to bring in the likes of Dean Henderson, Ugurkan Cakir and Sam Johnstone. However, if they cannot get one of those names, they might just be forced to hold on to Lloris even if he leaves on a free next season.
