Tottenham handed Mauricio Pochettino boost as PSG lining up replacements
According to Le10Sport (h/t Football.london), Tottenham Hotspur may have been handed fresh hope in their attempt to sign Mauricio Pochettino from PSG as the French giants are lining up a replacement.
Pochettino left Tottenham in November 2019 and took up the job at PSG almost fifteen months later, in January earlier this year. The Argentine tactician has already tasted success in France, winning two cups, although he did fail to lead the team to Ligue 1 success.
Nevertheless, eighteen months after having sacked him, Tottenham are intent on bringing Pochettino back to the club. The Lilywhites have been without a permanent manager since Jose Mourinho was let go of in April. And, the club was keen on replacing the Portuguese with Poch.
A deal, though, looked highly unlikely as PSG held firm on their stance that the 49-year-old will be staying at the club. This forced Spurs to divert their attention towards Antonio Conte but that move failed as well, leading Daniel Levy & co. back to Pochettino. (h/t Football.london)
PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi blasted those rumours in a recent interview. But, as per fresh updates from France, there well may be a way back to Tottenham for Pochettino. The Argentine has found it difficult to settle down in PSG and it is now being claimed that the club would let him leave in case he asks for an exit. (h/t Football.london)
In fact, PSG have already identified Zinedine Zidane, who left Real Madrid at the end of the season, as a dream candidate to take over from Poch in case he leaves. (h/t Football.london)

This surely ought to come as good news for Tottenham. After what has been quite a disappointing month concerning the managerial search, bringing Poch back to the club would certainly appease the fans.
Not only that but there would also be hope that the 49-year-old’s return may convince Harry Kane to stay put at the club for another season.
