Crystal Palace chairman hints at sale of Tottenham target Wilfried Zaha
Speaking to BBC Sport (h/t Evening Standard), Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has left the door open for the sale of star man Wilfried Zaha this summer. The Ivorian has been linked with a move to Tottenham.
Earlier this month, The Times reported that Zaha had informed Crystal Palace that he wanted to leave the club this summer, with the Express mentioning that Tottenham and Arsenal were interested in the Ivory Coast winger.
And, it now seems like Parish, who is the club chairman, has opened the door for an exit. Although, he did warn that any move would be entertained only if the offer was the right one for Crystal Palace.
“We understand his position. It’s no secret that he would like to challenge himself. But it has to be right for the football club. He understands that as well. If those two things collide then we will have to look at it. But right now, we are two days into the transfer window so it’s a bit early to talk about it.
Parish then went on to praise Zaha for his attitude and professionalism despite all the talk about his future.
“(He) continues to be an incredible talisman for the team. Obviously, there is lots of talk about transfers and all that kind of thing. “All I know is that when he crosses the white line for Crystal Palace he gives 100 per cent. Everything else, what will be will be. There’s a lot of love around the club for Wilfried and everything he has done for us as a football club.”

A product of the Palace academy, Zaha secured a big move to Manchester United but it didn’t pan out as planned. After a timid loan spell at Cardiff City, he returned to Selhurst Park and has morphed himself into one of the most dangerous wingers in the Premier League.
With him intent on leaving and Parish open to selling for the right offer, it will be interesting to see if Tottenham move for the Ivorian.
