Fabio Paratici and Paulo Fonseca want a new centre-back at Tottenham
According to Football.london (h/t Express), incoming Tottenham manager Paulo Fonseca and newly-appointed director of football, Fabio Paratici are in agreement that the club needs a new centre-back this summer.
Fonseca is set to be unveiled as the new Tottenham manager later this week after agreeing a three-year contract with the club. Paratici, meanwhile, was announced as the Managing Director of Football last week.
With the transfer window already open in the Premier League, the duo must quickly need to get to work on the targets that Tottenham want to sign this summer. And, it seems like there could be some good news on the horizon for the fans as both Paratici and Fonseca are already in agreement over the one key position that needs addressing.
Indeed, the duo is intent on bringing in a new centre-back this summer, hoping to resolve a major issue that hurt Spurs last term. Toby Alderweireld is not getting any younger and needs to be slowly phased out. Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez, meanwhile, had another terribly inconsistent campaign, showing that they cannot be relied upon, on a weekly basis.
With Joe Rodon still lacking the experience at the highest level, it would only make sense for Tottenham to bring in a proven defender that can hold things together at the back. And, it seems like both Paratici and Fonseca are on agreement on that matter.

It bodes well for Tottenham that both Fonseca and Paratici are on the same page regarding what has been a major issue for the club. Hopefully, they are able to narrow down on a target at the earliest possible and secure a transfer.
