Tottenham ace Son Heung-min set for new bumper contract claims Fabrizio Romano
According to transfer expert and reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur are set to hand Son Heung-min a new and improved contract imminently.
Son has been with Tottenham since 2015, having signed from Bayer Leverkusen and has grown into a pivotal player for the club. The South Korean international is among the best attackers on display in the Premier League and enjoyed one of his most prolific campaigns in 2020/21.
Even though his form waned towards the end of the season, the 28-year-old managed an amazing tally of 22 goals and 17 assists from 51 matches in all competitions. (h/t Transfermarkt)
As Romano confirms in his update, talks of a new contract for Son Heung-min have been doing the rounds since December last year. And, it seems like that all parties are close to arriving at an agreement imminently. The journalist adds that both Tottenham and the player’s camp are confident that the deal will be completed. He further writes:
“Son is staying at Tottenham, higher salary and new long-term agreement.”
This is obviously great news for Tottenham fans. More so considering the uncertainty that is looming around the future of Son’s partner in crime, Harry Kane. The England captain is being heavily linked with an exit this summer. At such a time, it is important that the club does everything to ensure that at least Son, if not both, stay put.
Heung-min Son is expected to sign soon his new contract with Tottenham, negotiations going on since December and now all parties confident to complete the agreement. ⚪️🇰🇷 #THFC
