Transfer News: Tottenham keen on Marcel Sabitzer
According to transfer news from Football.london, Tottenham are keen on signing Marcel Sabitzer. Rob Guest confirmed that the RB Leipzig man is one player that Spurs are still interested in and a move could happen due to his contract issues.
Sabitzer has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga. He was one of the cornerstones of Leipzig’s fairytale march to the semi-final of the Champions League in 2020. The Austrian has amassed 52 goals and 42 assists in 227 appearances for the club in all competitions so far.
What works in Tottenham’s favour is the fact that Sabitzer is entering the final year of his contract with RB Leipzig, leaving his future up in the air.
Now, Rob Guest of Football.london has spoken about Spurs’ interest in the player.
“He’s definitely a player Spurs like a lot. A move away from RB Leipzig could well happen this summer due to his contract status but he will have plenty of clubs to choose from if he can shine for Austria at Euro 2020.
Spurs could do with bringing in a midfielder who can score and assist regularly but that’s down to Fabio Paratici to decide who they should bring in. He really could be a bargain buy for someone ahead of next season.”

Sabitzer, at 27, is in the peak years of his career. The midfielder is a versatile player who can operate in a box-to-box role or a holding role. He is also adept at playing out wide on the right. A consistent source of goals and assists as well, he could be a very smart addition to our side.
