Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on Mauricio Pochettino amid Nuno links
According to talkSPORT (h/t Daily Star), Tottenham Hotspur still remain keen on Mauricio Pochettino even as Nuno Espirito Santo is linked with the manager’s job.
Tottenham’s search for a new manager has spiralled into a bizarreness as the club has had to face setback after setback in their pursuit of a number of targets.
Spurs have seen the likes of Julian Nagelsmann and Erik ten Hag drop out of the race. There have been talks held with the likes of Antonio Conte, Paulo Fonseca and Gennaro Gattuso only to see things break down, leaving them back at square one. (h/t Daily Star)
With the north London giants fast running out of options, Nuno Espirito Santo has emerged as the latest transfer target. Although, the Portuguese, who quit Wolverhampton Wanderers at the end of the last season, is also being pursued by Everton, who are looking to replace Carlo Ancelotti. (h/t Daily Star)
Amidst this, the report claims that a number of members within the Tottenham Hotspur hierarchy remain keen on bringing Mauricio Pochettino back to the club. The 49-year-old spent over five years at the club before being sacked in November 2019 due to a poor start to the season.
The Argentine has since taken up a job at PSG, having started in January earlier this year, where he has already won two trophies. The Evening Standard had claimed that Tottenham were keen on rehiring him following the breakdown of talks with Conte. And, it seems like Poch still remains high on the club’s wishlist, even though a deal looks unlikely.

The whole managerial hunt has gone on for way too long than it should have. While the club remains intent on Pochettino, a deal is a very remote possibility. So, it is time Tottenham set their sights on a more realistic target and get the deal over the line.
