Dominic Calvert-Lewin addresses transfer speculations amid Tottenham, Arsenal links
Speaking to the media (h/t Liverpool Echo), Everton and England striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has responded to transfer speculations surrounding him with Tottenham and Arsenal interested.
Calvert-Lewin has grown into a household name over the past couple of seasons, following his goalscoring accomplishments under ex-Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti. In 173 appearances for the Toffees, the 24-year-old has netted 53 goals, 21 of which came in the 2020/21 season. (h/t Transfermarkt)
A regular in the England squad now as well, Calvert-Lewin has featured for the Three Lions, scoring four goals. His exploits with Everton and England have landed the 24-year-old on the radars of Tottenham as well as their rivals Arsenal. (h/t Liverpool Echo)
Tottenham could certainly do with a striker of Calvert-Lewin’s calibre in the ranks considering that the club have no backup for star forward Harry Kane. Furthermore, the England captain has himself been heavily linked with an exit this summer, with Premier League champions Manchester City keen on signing him.
Adding Calvert-Lewin, as Kane’s strike partner or a replacement in case he departs, would serve Tottenham well. But, the 24-year-old forward has claimed that he is not focusing on all the speculations that are surrounding him and is instead concentrating on the UEFA Euro 2020.
“It’s quite easy (to ignore), just don’t go on my phone! That’s what I tend to do really. I’m focused, I’m focused now and I’m focused on training, working hard and making an impact on this tournament. What my future holds and what people speculate about is not my concern at this moment in time.”

Calvert-Lewin signed a new contract with Everton in March last year, extending his stay at the club till 2025. So, a move would be hard to pull off with the Toffees likely to demand a massive fee for their striker.
