Franck Kessie a transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur claims agent
According to Football.london, Massimo Brambati, the agent of AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing him this summer.
The 24-year-old started out at the academy of Stella Club in his homeland Ivory Coast before joining Serie A side Atalanta in 2015. After a season-long loan stint at Cesena, Kessie became a regular at Atalanta and grew into one of the most promising youngsters in Serie A.
In 2017, AC Milan came calling, signing him on a two-year loan deal before making his transfer permanent in 2019. The midfielder has grown into the beating heart of this AC Milan side and enjoyed a stunning 2020/21 season during which he produced a tally of 14 goals and 6 assists from 50 games in all competitions, helping them to second place in Serie A. However, Kessie is entering the final year of his contract with the Rossoneri and his agent has hinted that the midfielder could look for a move away while claiming that Tottenham are one of the clubs interested in securing his services. (h/t Football.london)
“Today, having a contract expiring in 2022 with an important player, one of Milan’s strongest, is a danger. Here is a basic error by the club. Now [Kessie] is the one who holds the knife by the handle and can decide what is best for him rather than the club.
“I know that in addition to Inter there are two Premier League teams interested in him, including Tottenham.”

It goes without saying that Kessie would be a major upgrade on some of the midfielders that Tottenham currently have such as Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks. The 24-year-old has proven himself in Serie A for a number of seasons now and with his best years still ahead of him, the Ivory Coast international can be a brilliant signing for the present and the future.
So, if there is indeed interest from Tottenham, the club must do everything possible in order to get the deal over the line.
