Tottenham battle Arsenal, West Ham and Everton for Martin Satriano
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are set to battle it out with London rivals Arsenal and West Ham United, along with Everton, for the signing of Inter Milan forward Martin Satriano.
The 20-year-old forward came through the youth ranks at Uruguayan club Nacional before making the switch to Inter Milan in the January transfer window of last year. Satriano has since been representing the Nerazzurri’s Primavera team and has been making all the right noises.
Satriano enjoyed a fine 2020/21 season as he managed to find the back of the net on 14 occasions while also setting up six goals for his teammates from 30 games across all competitions for Inter Milan’s Primavera side. The youngster, however, is yet to make his first-team debut for the Serie A champions, although he did make the substitutes’ bench on three occasions early in the 2020/21 term.
While Satriano is held in high regard within the club, Inter Milan are struggling financially and need to make sales in order to balance the books. This situation could see them cash in on the 20-year-old Uruguayan forward, alerting Tottenham along with their Premier League rivals Arsenal, West Ham and Everton.
Tottenham’s need for a new striker does not need any introduction. The club have lost Carlos Vinicius as Harry Kane’s backup, with the Brazilian forward’s loan deal from SL Benfica running out.
Furthermore, Kane himself has been linked with a move away from the north London outfit. Irrespective of what happens on that front though, Tottenham want to sign Satriano, as per the report, with the newly-appointed managing director of football, Fabio Paratici well aware of the youngster’s capabilities.
