Transfer News: Nuno Espirito Santo given Harry Kane boost by Tottenham Hotspur amid Manchester City interest
According to Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno Espirito Santo has been assured that star striker Harry Kane will remain at the club next season despite transfer interest from Manchester City.
The Cityzens are keen to replace Sergio Aguero, and already launched a £100million bid for the Englishman. But they would find it difficult to land the 27-year-old with that offer.
Daniel Levy values Kane closer to £150million and the report goes on to cite that ‘only an extraordinary offer’ will ‘spark a change of heart’ at N17 regarding Kane’s future. This would come as welcome news for Spurs fans.
Manchester City are interested in a transfer move for Harry Kane.
The Premier League Golden Boot and Playmaker Award winner, Harry Kane is one of the best in the business. If he is sold, the club would have a hard time replacing him in their attack.
Spurs want to keep Kane
Summer transfers can be the main focus of the club again as they have finally appointed a manager. Jose Mourinho was sacked back in April but the club took until early July to replace him permanently.
And that man is, of course, Nuno Espirito Santo, the former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager. It is obvious that the Portuguese manager would feel his team is strong with Kane in it.
Strengthening a rival like City would not be too wise. The club’s focus, alongside signing new players, should be on keeping hold of their star names.
The club has already seen Gareth Bale depart after his loan spell ended this summer. The Welshman had an impressive second half of the season, and Spurs are now a man short in their attack.
