Transfer News: Tottenham keen on Joachim Andersen
According to transfer news from Evening Standard, Tottenham are interested in signing Joachim Andersen. The Danish defender is back at Lyon after his loan spell at Fulham. This is despite Spurs’ interest in Takehiro Tomiyasu of Bologna.
The 24-year-old defender spent the early parts of his career in his homeland, Denmark, before making the switch to FC Twente. A well-travelled defender, Andersen has also had spells at Sampdoria and Lyon before arriving in England on loan with Fulham.
The 24-year-old missed a few games early in the season due to injury but since returning to full fitness he had been a mainstay at the back for the Cottagers. In fact, Andersen went on to captain Fulham in more than half of their Premier League games this term, despite being on loan and in his first season in England.
Spurs are trying to sign Tomiyasu from Bologna but they are also keen to strike a deal for Andersen. The Dane is currently back at Lyon after Fulham got relegated. It would seem as if Fabio Paratici is looking to overhaul the defence which let the side down last season.

Fulham might not have survived the drop last season but Andersen did no harm to his reputation. A good number of outings meant that he was likely to be pursued by other clubs. While Andersen might not exactly be a star name, he is a solid defender to have. At just 24, he is entering his prime and Spurs could use someone like him.
