Tottenham youngster Troy Parrott set to leave on loan this summer

According to the Irish Independent, Tottenham Hotspur youngster Troy Parrott is set to leave the club this summer for yet another loan spell, with a number of clubs vying to sign him.

The 19-year-old striker, a product of the Tottenham academy, broke into the senior team during the 2019/20 season. However, with opportunities not forthcoming, Parrott was sent out on loan to Millwall last summer, to help continue his development.

Having made the switch to the Championship club, the Irish striker struggled with injuries early in his spell at the club. When fit, the forward did not get a host of opportunities while he failed to make the most of the chances that did come his way.

As a result, Parrott was recalled by Spurs in January, only to send him off to Ipswich Town for another temporary stint. The youngster didn’t fare all too better there either, although he did get more game-time while he also managed to score twice in 18 games.

Back at Tottenham now, Parrott is said to be intent on securing yet another loan move away from the club in order to continue his development, the report claims. It is claimed that the teenage striker would prefer playing in the EFL Championship where there are quite a few clubs interested in securing his services.

A final call, though, will be taken by newly-appointed manager Nuno Espirito Santo once he takes over the pre-season. There are question marks over the future of star striker Harry Kane. However, that is unlikely to have any effect on Parrott’s plans of a loan move.

Irrespective of whether Kane stays or leaves, Parrott needs regular game-time at this stage, especially after having had a difficult time last year. So, another loan spell for the young striker makes complete sense this summer. As to where he ends up, remains to be seen.
