Tottenham Hotspur confirm fifth pre-season friendly vs Colchester United

According to Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur’s plans for the pre-season under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo are starting to take shape, with the club now confirming a fifth friendly.

Spurs brought in Nuno earlier this month as a full-time replacement for Jose Mourinho who had been sacked back in April. With the announcement made after a 72-day hunt, the Portuguese tactician hasn’t had a great deal of time before diving right into the pre-season ahead of the 2021/22 term.

The camp started earlier this week with players who were not involved in any of the international competitions going on, returning to the Hotspur Way facility and going through routine tests and fitness assessments. Fans will have to wait till the 17th of July to get a glimpse of what Tottenham may look like under Nuno when they play their first pre-season friendly against Leyton Orient.

Following that, the Lilywhites were scheduled to play MK Dons on 28th July before winding off their preparations with two London derbies against Chelsea and Arsenal in early August.

Now, though, another pre-season fixture has been added to the calendar, with Tottenham set to face off against League Two outfit Colchester United. The game will take place two weeks from today, right in between the friendlies against Leyton Orient and MK Dons.

The contest will take place at the JobServe Community Stadium on Wednesday, July 21.

As many as 800 tickets will be made available for the away fans for the game against Colchester, with sales going live from Thursday, July 8th.

Another warm-up game is a good move as it gives Nuno more time and opportunity to see his players in a game-situation as he looks to get the side up and running by the time the season starts.
