Transfer News: Tottenham trio Lamela, Aurier and Sissoko told to find new clubs
According to transfer news from The Athletic (subscription req.), the Tottenham trio of Erik Lamela, Serge Aurier and Moussa Sissoko have been put on the chopping block. The three players have been told that they can find themselves new clubs.
Tottenham are set for a summer of change. With a new managing director and manager, Spurs are hoping to leave behind the ruins of last season and start afresh. With the transfer window open, it will be expected that a few new faces arrive. It will also be interesting to see which names new manager Nuno Espirito Santo chooses to discard.
It seems that Spurs have identified a troika of players that they feel are dispensable to the side. Erik Lamela is the first name among those three. The Argentine is a talented player no doubt but his consistency is highly erratic and he cannot be relied upon.
Serge Aurier has served the club well since joining. However, he comes with his own shortcomings, as he is an ultra attacking full-back. Lastly, there is Moussa Sissoko, who seems to have run his course at the club. An industrious player, age seems to be catching up with him. Spurs have made it known to these three that they can find a new club for themselves.

It is understandable that Spurs would want to freshen up the squad ahead of the new season. Clearing these three players should help with some incoming funds and clear the wage bill a little bit. These players have been a part of the club for a while now but they can no longer offer those high levels of performance.
