Dele Alli could be used as a forward under new Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo
According to Eurosport, Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli could be set for a position change under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
Alli, who has been with Tottenham for six years now, endured perhaps his most difficult season with the club last time out. Having completely fallen out of favour under Jose Mourinho, the England international hardly featured for most parts of the campaign and failed to make the kind of impact that fans are used to from him when he did play.
Alli had been heavily linked with a move away to Paris Saint-Germain at various points over the past twelve months or so due to his situation under Mourinho. However, the report insists that all that is in the past now, with the 25-year-old ready to start afresh and put the misery of the last season behind him.
With the former MK Dons willing to turn things around, there may well be a change of roles on the cards for him under the new management. Nuno Espirito Santo, brought in as the permanent replacement for Mourinho, is contemplating operating with two forwards upfront, with the squad assessment and recruitment being planned accordingly.
And, the report mentions that there is a chance that Alli may be asked to switch to the role of a forward, even though it is claimed that his creative edge will be crucial for the side.

Alli has shown his penchant for goals and the capability to make those ghosting runs forward into the box. Whether that can help him transition into a centre-forward is a big question though. We could get a glimpse of any such move in the pre-season with Harry Kane still not returning to training following his Euro journey with England.
