According to The Telegraph, Harry Kane could be willing to take a drastic step to force an exit from Tottenham this summer. The 27-year-old’s England teammates believe that he could skip pre-season training in order to secure a transfer to Manchester City.

Kane, who is keen on challenging for trophies, believes that he has a gentleman’s agreement with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy for the club to listen to bids coming for him this summer, with Manchester City waiting in the wings with a £100m offer.

Levy, though, is determined not to lose his star man this summer and has told new manager Nuno Espirito Santo that the England captain will not be allowed to leave – a sentiment reiterated by the new head coach earlier this week.

“Harry is our player, period. No need to talk about anything else. Now is the moment for Harry to recover his energy, to rest. When he comes again we will have time to speak. And I’m looking forward to him joining the group and starting working together. Harry’s one of the best footballers in the world and he’s a Tottenham FC player.”

This stance, though, could force Kane to take matters into his own hands, with the report claiming that his England teammates believe that the striker could be willing to skip training in order to secure an exit. This harks back to Gareth Bale missing out on a pre-season session back in 2013 in order to seal a transfer to Real Madrid.

Kane, throughout his career, has carried himself as a top professional. And it is highly improbable that he would resort to such measures in order to secure an exit. Currently taking a break after the UEFA Euro 2020, the 27-year-old is expected back in training in a few weeks and should return as per plans. As for his future, a long saga could be on the cards.
