Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur scout Caleb Chukwuemeka
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur have scouted Northampton Town starlet Caleb Chukwuemeka who is also a target for Aston Villa and Newcastle United.
The 19-year-old striker is a product of the Northampton Town youth academy. He made his first-team debut for the League One club this past season and went on to make 28 appearances, scoring two goals and setting up one more for his teammate.
Chukwuemeka is a versatile attacker who can play anywhere across the frontline. The 19-year-old is tied to a scholarship contract with the League One club. Brother of Aston Villa’s teenage prodigy Carney Chukwuemeka, Caleb is yet to sign a professional contract with Northampton Town, with his current deal running out at the end of January.
And this has alerted a host of clubs in England, including Tottenham Hotspur, who have scouted him, as per the report. It is claimed that the 19-year-old has made a solid impression on the scouts of Tottenham as well as Newcastle United.
However, it seems like Aston Villa are the furthest with regard to the interest in the promising teenager. Indeed, the Villans have made an approach for Chukwuemeka that has been turned down by Northampton Town, even though the young striker’s contract with the club will run out in a few months’ time.

Tottenham have some exciting young talent coming through the ranks at the club. Dane Scarlett, who scored in the 1-1 draw against Leyton Orient in a friendly on Saturday, is certainly one to watch out for, while Troy Parrott is another player who has been tipped for a bright future.
Adding someone like Chukwuemeka into the mix would be a good move with an eye on the future. However, with Aston Villa already making an approach, Spurs might have to act fast to sign up the teenager.
