Crystal Palace have moved in front of Spurs for the signature of Joachim Andersen

Journalist Mike McGrath via Telegraph has reported Crystal Palace have boosted their efforts to sign Tottenham target Joachim Andersen. The Eagles are continuing to strengthen Patrick Viera’s squad. The report adds that Lyon value Andersen at around £20million. The 25-year-old returned to the French club this summer. He spent the last season on loan at Fulham.

On Joachim Andersen

Andersen made his debut for Fulham in November 2020 against West Bromwich Albion. His side were coming into the game with a poor defensive record, conceding 11 goals in their first three games. However, Andersen turned the fortunes.

Not only did Fulham claim their first win of the season, but they managed to keep their first clean sheet too. The club rewarded his performances. In the absence of Tom Cairney, Andersen was given the captain’s armband

Denmark included Andersen in their squad for UEFA Euro 2020. Back in May, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Joachim Andersen’s priority is to stay in the Premier League. He added that Tottenham are interested in him.

However, the latest from Telegraph suggests that the Eagles are in a better position to secure the player’s signature.

Earlier, Telegraph claimed that Tottenham are planning a defence revamp. The report also linked Toby Alderweireld with a move away from Spurs.
