Sevilla’s Jules Kounde chased by both, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are keeping an eye on Sevilla defender and Tottenham target Jules Kounde. United are ‘ready’ to offer Kounde an opportunity to play at Old Trafford. The player’s versatility is what has caught the eye of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Along with centre-back, Kounde is comfortable as a right-back too. Manchester United are already in talks with Raphael Varane.

However, Sevilla are keen on keeping the French centre-back. Kounde’s current contract runs till 2024.

football.london’s Tottenham correspondent, Alasdair Gold , reported Tottenham’s interest in Kounde. He suggested a potential advantage for the club in their pursuit of Kounde. Sevilla have an interest in Davinson Sanchez. The club could negotiate a player plus cash deal for Kounde.

He adds that the player would be a cost big for Spurs to sign.

Jules Kounde, not a priority?

Earlier, a report from Express hinted that Jules Kounde is not the top defensive target. Tottenham Hotspur and Fabio Paratici rate Cristian Romero as their top target. It adds that the club have identified Romero as the top defensive target.

Nuno Espirito Santo is keen on having new defenders. Veteran Toby Alderweireld is in Qatar ahead of his potential move to Al-Duhail. Serge Aurier is also keen on a move back to PSG.

Management at N17 seems keen to bring in new defenders. Apart from Kounde and Romero, Jannik Vestergaard is one of the names hinted at by The Times.

Nonetheless, with Manchester United also entering the fray, any potential move for Kounde could get tricky for Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
