Manchester United have their eyes on Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane for next season

A report from ESPN (h/t Express) updates the latest twist in the Harry Kane saga. The report suggests that Manchester United are planning to invest in a striker. The Red Devils have lined up Harry Kane as a potential option. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a big admirer of the England striker.

However, the report adds that United are well set in the striker department for this season with Edinson Cavani, Martial and Greenwood. Any advancements for Kane would be made next season.

Nevertheless, a mega bid from Manchester City could crush their plans. The Cityzens might be keen on replacing Sergio Aguero.

However, according to the Guardian, Tottenham have already rejected a bid worth £100m from Manchester City.

Should Tottenham keep Harry Kane?

Harry Kane finished last season with the most goals and most assists in the Premier League. In 2018, the player signed a new six-year contract with Tottenham. It looks certain that Spurs hold the advantage in any negotiations.

Considering the above facts, it seems certain that Tottenham would benefit from keeping Kane. However, the club could come out of this situation with a win regardless of whether Kane stays or not. Daniel Levy, who is considered a master in negotiation, would not let Kane go for an underwhelming fee.

With the season starting in less than three weeks, it would make sense for Levy to make a decision early. If Kane leaves, it would be harsh on Nuno to start the season without a suitable replacement.
