Harry Kane fails to show up for Tottenham training
Sky Sports broadcaster Paul Gilmour has dropped a bombshell on Tottenham supporters. According to him, Harry Kane has not shown up for Spurs training today. The player was due back this morning (2nd August) after his holiday post-Euro 2020.
A report from Sky Sports states that Kane told Tottenham about his decision to leave back in May. The club has since rejected a £100m bid from Manchester City. The article suggests that Tottenham Hotspur have valued Kane at upwards of £120m.
City are heavily mentioned in the mix for Kane. However, the report also adds that Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in the striker.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has addressed the situation as well. According to him, Kane’s no-show is his decision and not related to COVID testing. He added that the player has assumed that he had a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with the club since last year to leave Spurs this summer.
What does Harry Kane’s no-show mean for Tottenham?
Harry Kane made his intentions public in an interview with Gary Neville earlier this year. The 28-year-old hinted about joining City after referring to Kevin de Bruyne as a “special player” and someone that he would like to link up with and text correction.
However, the recent development could mean serious complications at Tottenham. During his first interview as a Tottenham manager, Nuno Espirito Santo even said that he would be waiting for Kane to arrive after his holiday.
“I have no doubts in my mind. What I wish is for Harry to recover well and have a good rest. When he arrives he will feel that he has to commit himself to become better.”

Kane’s no-show could create a serious panic as potential buyers could now be aware of Tottenham’s possible compromising position. If Harry Kane moves, it only makes sense to think that we must dip into the market for a potential replacement.
