Transfer News: Manchester City yet to meet Tottenham Hotspur’s valuation of Harry Kane
According to the Daily Star, Manchester City have not given up their pursuit of signing Harry Kane. Pep Guardiola’s club are termed as the front runners for the English talisman. However, the clubs still remain £40m apart in their valuation for the Tottenham Hotspur striker.
Daniel Levy has set a £160m price tag for Kane amid the transfer speculations. However, Manchester City are not willing to go beyond the mark of £120m for the 28-year-old.
The player wants the move and City are prepared to take the saga right until August 31 when the window closes. The report further adds that if they can’t close the deal, City might end up losing Kane to rivals Manchester United.
Should Tottenham let the Harry Kane-Manchester City saga go down to the final day of the transfer window?
As mentioned above, Manchester City are prepared to negotiate until the transfer window closes. However, it might not be the route Tottenham fans would want the club to take.
If Spurs let Harry Kane go, it would be fair to think that club would need a suitable replacement due to what he brings to the Spurs side with his goals.
One would also be right to think that replacing a striker who scored the most goals and provided the most assists in the Premier League last season isn’t going to be easy.

Hence, a last-minute sale of the England captain could prompt unrest in the Tottenham camp. A replacement, in such circumstances, could require time to adjust to new surroundings and adapt to Nuno Espirito Santo’s ideas.
Considering all the above arguments, Daniel Levy should look to close the Harry Kane chapter as soon as it becomes possible so that the team and the fans have clarity at the earliest.
