Tottenham Hotspur’s Jamie Bowden joins Oldham Athletic on loan
Tottenham Hotspur via an official statement have announced the latest outgoing from the club. Under-23s star, Jamie Bowden will join Oldham Athletic on a season-long loan deal.
The 20-year-old is the product of Tottenham Hotspur’s academy. Last season, he made 15 appearances for the club’s Under-23 side and scored two goals.
Bowden made his senior debut in 2018, playing a part in the team’s pre-season friendly against Girona. He has also made several match squads with the senior team. The player most notably travelled with the first-team squad for their epic Champions League quarter-finals second leg tie against Manchester City in 2019. The player has enough experience with the Under-18s and the Under-23s. Spurs’ former interim manager, Ryan Mason, had even made him the captain during all six games of the UEFA Youth League in 2019/20. The midfielder joined the under-23s last season. However, Bowden suffered an unfortunate injury at the start of the 20/21 season.
Upon return, Jose Mourinho rewarded the youngster in 2021, as Bowden made his first competitive matchday squad when Spurs played Wolfsberger in the Europa League.
Now he departs to Oldham Athletic to continue his development. Upon his arrival at the League Two outfit, head Coach Keith Curle said:
“Since he came on Monday morning he’s trained with us as a group and we can see why he’s come with great references and why his club rate him so highly. He just needs to keep working hard and put into practice all the experiences he’s already had at a very young age.”
Jamie Bowden has joined League Two side Oldham Athletic on loan for the 2021/22 season.
Good luck, Jamie!
