Tottenham keen on a move for Dusan Vlahovic after failed Lautaro Martinez move
According to The Express, Tottenham Hotspur are going to intensify talks with Fiorentina to sign Dusan Vlahovic this summer after the move for Lautaro Martinez failed to materialize.
The North London outfit were said to have a £60million bid accepted by Inter Milan for Martinez last week, but it seems like the Italian club have taken a U-turn after losing Romelu Lukaku this summer.
This has led to Tottenham targeting Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic, who has generated interest from a number of clubs this summer. The Serbian scored 21 Serie A goals last season, making him the 4th highest scorer in the league last season, only behind Luis Muriel (22), Romelu Lukaku (24), and Cristiano Ronaldo (29).
Spurs have also moved fast for Vlahovic, with talks said to be intensified for the forward in the last 48 hours. Tottenham are also facing the prospect of losing star centre-forward Harry Kane this summer. However, their first priority would be to partner the Englishman with Vlahovic if they do manage to keep him at the club beyond the transfer deadline day.
Although Tottenham have intensified talks in the last couple of days, they are yet to make direct contact with the Italian outfit. Atletico Madrid are also said to be interested in signing the Serbian this summer and are understood to have already made their first bid for the player in the region of £45million plus bonuses.
Fabio Paratici, who was appointed as the Director of Football at Tottenham earlier this year, is well versed with Vlahovic’s talent, while he also knows of Fiorentina’s willingness to tie the forward to a new contract this summer, so as to include a bumper release clause.
