Graham Potter accepts that Yves Bissouma could leave Brighton amidst Tottenham links
According to Sky Sports, Graham Potter has reassured Brighton fans that Yves Bissouma is happy at the club but does not rule out a move this summer amidst interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham have had a long-standing interest in the Mali midfielder this summer and have been keen on signing the player. The 24-year-old’s current contract at Brighton will expire in two years, and the midfielder is yet to sign a new contract at the club.
Besides all this, Graham Potter has reassured the fans that the player is happy at the club but has also accepted the fact that he cannot control what could still happen in this transfer window. He said (h/t Sky Sports):
“I’ve been speaking about Yves Bissouma for quite some time and he’s still here,
“That’s all I can say on it. I can’t control the future; I don’t know what’s going to happen essentially – that’s the beauty of life and football.
“Yves is with us, he’s happy, he’s smiling, he wants to play, he wants to keep improving his career, he’s taking steps. He’s our player and, while he’s still here, we’ll do our best to help him”.
With Harry Winks linked with a move away from the club this summer, Tottenham are keen on bringing in midfield reinforcements.
The Mali midfielder has been a consistent performer in the Premier League since he joined the Seagulls in 2018 from Lille.

However, signing the player will be a complicated move given that both Liverpool and rivals Arsenal are also interested in securing the player’s services this summer.
If Tottenham do plan on signing the player, they will have to move fast and complete a deal before the transfer window closes on the 31st of August.
