Tottenham set to retain Harry Kane for another season amid Man City interest

According to The Times, Tottenham Hotspur are seemingly set to keep hold of superstar Harry Kane for another year amid interest from rivals Manchester City.

The Harry Kane transfer saga has been going on since the end of the last season, when Sky Sports claimed that the England captain had informed the club that he wants to leave.

Manchester City were sparked into action quickly, as they sought a replacement for Sergio Aguero and have been hot on the trails of Kane for a couple of months now. The Cityzens had made an offer of £100m for the England striker and captain back in June, but that was swiftly rejected by Tottenham.

And, a resolution on the matters is nowhere in sight as Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy remains determined not to let go of the 28-year-old. Indeed, the current stance within the Spurs camp with regard to Kane’s situation is that the Premier League champions have left it too late in the transfer window, which would hamper the Lilywhites to find a replacement as well.

The report also insists that contrary to recent claims, there have been no discussions held between Tottenham and Manchester City over a potential transfer of late. It is also claimed that even if Pep Guardiola’s side are willing to match Levy’s £160m demand for Kane, the stance is unlikely to change as there are only 17 days left in the transfer window.
