Transfer News: Fiorentina want €70m for Tottenham target Dusan Vlahovic
According to transfer news from Corriere dello Sport via Football Italia (h/t Mirror), Tottenham Hotspur will need to shell out €70m to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina.
Vlahovic enjoyed a fine season last time out in Italy. Even though Fiorentina floundered, the 21-year-old produced the goods in the final third, finishing the 2020/21 campaign with 21 goals in Serie A. The 21-year-old has started the new season in fine form as well, scoring twice in the Viola’s Coppa Italia clash against Cosenza.
The Serbian international has been on the radars of Tottenham Hotspur for a while now, along with rivals Arsenal. Vlahovic is potentially being viewed as an option to bolster the attacking unit amid the uncertainty surrounding the future of Harry Kane this summer. (h/t Mirror)
However, it has now emerged that signing Vlahovic will not come cheap for Tottenham or Arsenal. As per the aforementioned report, the 21-year-old will only be allowed to leave by Fiorentina if a club is willing to match their €70m asking price.
Vlahovic still has two years left on his contract with the Serie A outfit, which does give them some advantage in the negotiations. Spending such amounts of money on a 21-year-old with just one good season under his belt would be a move fraught with risk for Tottenham.
Furthermore, funds could also be an issue, if Kane stays put, which is starting to look like an increasing possibility with every passing day.

Irrespective of whether Kane stays or leaves, there is no doubt that Tottenham need another centre-forward. And while Vlahovic has the potential to be a top signing, Spurs must be wary of paying over the top for the 21-year-old.
