Fabio Paratici is keen on convincing Pau Torres to join Tottenham this summer
According to football.london, Fabio Paratici is doing his best to convince Pau Torres to make the switch from Villarreal to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Spurs’ new director of football in Paratici has already orchestrated three deals this summer, including signing Cristian Romero from Atalanta. The North London outfit have been busy in the transfer market this summer, and their next target seems to be Pau Torres.
The Spaniard made 33 La Liga appearances for Villarreal last season and won the Europa League. However, his season was not over just yet. The 24-year-old went on to feature for Spain at the Euros as helped them reach the semi-final while he also won the silver medal at the Olympics.
The 24-year-old Spaniard is being eyed as the ideal defender to partner Romero at Tottenham; however, the player has previously refused to join the club and is apparently happy in Spain.
However, Paratici is adamant about convincing the player to sign for the club this summer. According to Spanish outlet AS, via Sport Witness (h/t football.london), the North London outfit are also ready to increase their offer to lure the 24-year-old to the club this summer.
Spurs have already lost the likes of Juan Foyth and Toby Alderweireld this summer and are keen on bolstering their defence – something Pau Torres could certainly do.

If Paratici fails to sign the Spaniard, the club also have some other names in mind with the likes of Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jules Kounde touted as the main alternatives. Thus, with Paratici keen on bringing the player to London, it looks like Tottenham will push hard to sign the player this summer.
