Dusan Vlahovic prefers joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer
According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio (h/t Express), Dusan Vlahovic prefers a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer over rivals Arsenal.
This is a huge boost for Spurs, who would be delighted in getting one up on their fiercest rivals, who have also chased to secure the player’s services this summer. Vlahovic has been linked with Spurs for a while now and has been the No.1 priority of the club in the attacking role.
The Serbian scored 21 Serie A goals last season, only lesser than Luis Muriel (22) Romelu Lukaku (24), Cristiano Ronaldo (29), keeping him in good company and indicating that he is a great goal-scorer. Spurs have been on the lookout for a forward all summer after they decided not to activate the ‘option to buy’ clause in Carlos Vinicius’s contract at the end of the season.
Vlahovic is said to prefer Tottenham, as per the report. While the reason has not been specified, it may be because the club will be playing in a European competition this season, unlike Arsenal, who finished 8th last season, ruling out their chances of playing in Europe.
Although Vlahovic might prefer Tottenham, the North London outfit will face competition from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, who are also keen on signing the player this summer and have apparently already tabled a bid worth £45million for the forward.
Moreover, Fiorentina are trying to tie down the Serbian to a new contract, which will enable them to include a huge release clause instead of letting him leave for £51.4million this summer – their current valuation of the player. (h/t Express)

Should Vlahovic join Spurs, he will not necessarily replace Harry Kane as the Englishman still remains a Tottenham player, evident after he was named in the club’s Europa League Conference squad.
However, for now, Tottenham should try to sign Vlahovic irrespective of any situation at the club as the Serbian could prove to be a real asset for Nuno Espirito Santo, in his debut season at the club.
