Transfer News: Nahitan Nandez is on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur are planning to sign Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez this summer.
The Uruguayan made 32 Serie A appearances for the Italian outfit last season as he managed to score 2 goals and provide 3 assists from central midfield, while he also featured for his nation at the Copa America this summer.
While there is nothing advanced in terms of Tottenham’s interest in the player, they have made contact, as per Fabrizio Romano.
The whole tweet read:
“Tottenham director Fabio Paratici at work on many potential deals for final two weeks. Centre back… and more #THFC
Cagliari and former Boca Nahitan Nández, one of the names in Spurs list as midfielder. Contacts started, but no official bid yet. There are also other options.”
While Tottenham do possess the likes of Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, Harry Winks, Oliver Skipp, Moussa Sissoko, in that role, they still need considerable depth due to a couple of reasons.
Harry Winks has been linked with a move away from Spurs this summer while Moussa Sissoko is not getting any younger. In addition, Tanguy Ndombele seems to have not enjoyed any favour under Nuno Espirito Santo as of yet.

Nahitan Nandez could work well for Spurs in that area. As mentioned earlier, the North London outfit also have other names in mind as alternatives to the Uruguayan. However, only time will tell where Nandez plays his football beyond the summer.
