Tottenham team news: Cristiano Romero fit for Pacos de Ferreira clash

Tottenham are all set to face Pacos de Ferreira in the second leg playoff of the UEFA Conference League. Spurs are currently behind on aggregate by a solitary goal that Lucas Da Silva scored in their home leg. The second leg will be played tomorrow at Spurs’ home stadium.

Nuno Espirito Santo went into full rotation mode last week when he went in with a very young and fringe side to Portugal. That went onto backfire spectacularly as they hardly looked close to getting a win. It means that there is a good chance that some of the more regular names feature in the second leg.

As for some of the injuries, Cristian Romero is all set to return to the fold after displaying some discomfort in the first leg. He remained unused in the weekend win over Wolves. Nuno provided an update on the same.

“Cristian is okay. He had problems in the previous leg, so we decided not to take him to Wolves. He trained yesterday, trained today and he’s an option for tomorrow.”

Romero’s partner in the game, Cameron Carter-Vickers will be out of the game though. Joe Rodon continues to be away due to his own injury. Nuno also spoke about their injuries and ruled them out for the game.

“Joe is not fit to join us, or Cameron. Joe is better, much better, but not fit for tomorrow. We also have small issues that are normal after every match.”

Not a lot was given away by Nuno regarding another possible rotation or team selection. However, the objective was clear that they have to win the game in order to progress into the main tournament. Given what happened last week, it is fair to expect some of the senior and regular players to come into the game to get the much-needed win.
